Simplicity that celebrated the common ingredient of kitchens across Maharashtra

The legacy and presence of a regional spices brand that was crafted and conveyed effectively, using a simple cultural connect.

The advent of malls in Pune threatened the business and footfall of small shops in Pune’s traditional marketplace - Laxmi Road; especially in days leading up to Diwali. Sakal, Pune’s leading publication, decided to launch an event that brought the people back to the traditional shopping centre. We conceptualised and deisgned Pune Diwali Fest, which offered to be more than just Diwali shopping. Every year, a new theme was designed to showcase the virbancy, fun and discounts on offer.

2009
First Edition of Sakal PDF The first edition simply introduced PDF as the mega shopping destination for the entire family.

2010
It used the famous Madhubani art to create an aura of celebrations for India’s biggest festival.

2011
It used Shivkasi-styled images used on the boxes of fire crackers to create a shopping dhamaka.

2012
The biggest and most successful edition of PDF, the communication revolved around exaggerated illustrations showcasing the Great Indian Festival Circus and how it had something for everyone.

2013
Using clay modelling, vibrant illustrations were created that captured the festive spirit. Characters were created that showcased the joy of Diwali in a refreshing manner.
